'Fallout: New Vegas' The Frontier Mod

According to PCGamesN, "The Frontier" takes the story to a snowy region of Portland, Oregon, where you play as the Courier who is stuck in the middle of the conflict between the Caesar's Legion faction as well the New California Republic.

There are three main questlines that will bring you below Portland's streets and uncover the secrets kept under the raging war above in a well-written storyline that doesn't stray far from the theme of "New Vegas" itself.

Of course, the "Fallout: New Vegas" mod added a new map, which is as vast as the game's Mojave map--and a whole lot more, including 60+ side quests for more hours of gameplay.

"The Frontier" mod has also added a total of 150 new weapons, new armors, and even vehicles that you can use to drive around the Portland map

Based on the gaming news outlet, "Frontier's" story is set before the Battle of Hoover Dam.

How to Start Playing

So, how do you start playing the biggest "Fallout: New Vegas" mod ever?

As with any game mods, you'll want to head over to Nexus Mods where it is available to download, but be sure that you also have the New Vegas Script Extender, the 4GB Patcher, the User Interface Organizer mod, as well as the JIP LN NVSE Plugin, which can be mostly found in the website as well.

Besides these tools, "The Frontier" developers also recommend using the Mod Conifguration Menu and the New Vegas Anti-Crash.

As of writing, the mod is around 25GB in size, so be sure your device has room for the mod.

Of course, players need a "Fallout: New Vegas" copy, complete with all four of its DLCs, plus it's recommended that they save a new game file in the base game and then play until they reach level 11, then an NCR rep should pop up, and with a blink of an eye, you're off to Portland.

If this is your first time downloading and using a game mod, the developers have added a manual that can help guide you, otherwise every information you need is available on the Nexus Mod page.

Steam Build Available Soon

It seems like the mod will also be available on Steam soon, so you can check out the listing and download "The Frontier" via the storefront to make things much easier, but the Steam build will be delayed "for a short while" as the developers are working to fix some issues.

According to PCMag, "The Frontier" will give "Fallout: New Vegas" fans around 60+ hours of gameplay, which is incredible and almost like you've acquired a new game.

With everything the developers have done, "Frontier" is the biggest game mod for any "Fallout" game ever, which explains why it took years for the team to create it.
