Tim Cook has recently spoken at a virtual event called Computers, Privacy, and Data Protection Conference where he reiterated the importance of data privacy, particularly in the 21st century where the digital age rose. The Apple CEO has been on the campaign of data privacy and transparency since the release of the latest iOS 14, which tells people whenever apps are accessing several elements in the gadget.

The succeeding CEO and friend to Steve Jobs has been giving massive importance to privacy lately, especially during this time of pandemic where people are severely reliant on technology and innovation. Most of the world is running on the digital language and the pandemic has fast tracked this event, as the need to continue working and studying has happened remotely. 

The most valuable company in the world, Apple, has taken the direction of its current CEO and went with his campaign to promote data awareness and privacy of everyone who uses technology daily. Tim Cook also highlighted Facebook's business model that initially bumped heads with Apple because of its privacy settings that store data from individuals.

In an interview with the Fast Company, Apple CEO Tim Cook highlighted that privacy has a massive role in our society, as the world is more vulnerable to it because of technology that allows people to express themselves. Moreover, the conference and interview coincide with the recently concluded "Data Privacy Day" which happened last Thursday, January 28. 

Data is all around the world, and almost everyone has these types of information that lie around unguarded or protected, subject to vulnerabilities and invasion. Cook said in the interview that privacy is "one of the top issues of the century," alongside the popular anomaly, Climate Change. 

Apart from that, Cook had highlighted several key points in his interviews and statement that addressed the so-called "Big Tech" of the present which includes Apple under the category. Tim Cook has highlighted and gave importance to several information about technology, saying that it is a current necessity that also brings massive threats and dangers to human life.

Apple and Tim Cook have been empowering data privacy in recent times, as it had initially battled it with one of the largest social media companies in the world, Facebook, in terms of access to information. Apple's recently updated terms and feature for the iOS 14 has given the user itself, the right to determine which applications could access data and information.

Additionally, Apple has released a report that tells people how their data are shared, accessed, and passed around stakes from different companies in a campaign called "A Day in the Life of Your Data." Apple's research discussed the dangers of data getting passed around and accessed by anyone easily, as data privacy is one of the most overlooked factors in the present.
