Every laptop manufacturer that you can think of is currently updating, refining and redesigning their 2021 list of products around NVIDIA's new Ampere-based mobile RTX 30 Series Laptop GPUs and the latest in CPU technology from AMD and Intel.

Mobile Ampere will boost laptop space in 2021 for gaming creative endeavors. It can serve as the engine that connects all of the different parts together.

Just like it desktop version, mobile Ampere is portable too. Third-generation Max-Q technology regulates power between the GPU and the CPU and it also decreases the impact of noisy fans and save battery-life with new PCI Express optimization.

Also, it utilizes the RTX 30 Series' artificial intelligence based Tensor cores that can be leveraged for DLSS, according to GamesRadar.

There is a difference between a desktop graphics-card and one that is made for a gaming laptop. You will only need to look at the size and the real-estate of the fans and the cooling attached to most desktop graphics cards, with spinning blades and heat sinks, as well as pipes and RGB lights to know it.The laptop GPU is below the keyboard, doing all of the work.

In the laptop space there have been remarkable innovation over the past few years, as NVIDIA brought its 10-series to laptops in a very massive way, followed up by the 20-series that are ray-tracing powered.

Going mobile meant that users no longer need to sacrifice performance or visuals to a degree that the desktop and the laptop experience could not be compared.

Also, the new GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU brings the frames, ushers in the age of the QHD or the 1440p laptop, according to The Verge.

The increased resolution on a 15-inch or a 17-inch display is crisp and more natural, as well as inspiring when users see the DOOM Eternal pushing close to 200 frames-per-second.

Just like the desktop variants, Mobile Ampere presents the latest in the NVIDIA GPU design. This means second generation RT-Cores for advanced real-time ray-tracing effects in video games such as "Cyberpunk 2077", "Control", "Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War", "Fortnite", and more.Third-gen Tensor Cores and DLSS rendering contributes to a generational performance leap.

3rd Gen Max-Q

Before the release of the GeForce RTX30 Series of Laptop GPU's "Max-Q" referred to a specific type of NVIDIA's mobile GPU design, a variant made for thin, light and power-efficient laptops, according to PCGamer.

For some, Max-Q meant lowering the power-draw and clock speed, basically sacrificing some performance to be able to get a high-powered GPU inside a thin and portable device. Something that fits into a bag, unlike some of the thicker gaming laptops in the market.

However, Max-Q was more than that, it was a design philosophy. The innovation that took the portability side of the gaming laptop and made sure that was always kept in mind when designing the features.

Now things like Advanced Optimus, which is the automatic switching between discrete and on-board graphics to conserve battery and to help increase efficiency, and Dynamic Boost arrived in selected hardware configurations and laptops.
