The Puli Robot rover is now preparing to head over to the moon whether the robot will then be searching for water ice. A transcription was provided regarding the statements of Matyas Hazadi, the Head of Electrical Engineering elaborating the function and purpose of this particular robot.

Puli lunar rover

The transcription, as per Yahoo News, noted that the robot's key functionality is actually to search for certain water inside the still unknown lunar regolit. This means that basically inside the moon's surface. The way that it does this is that it searches the area for background radiation then proceeds to the background radiation induces another secondary radiation that reportedly comes out from the moon. This also compares the different energy of the said background radiation spectrum in order to find water.

Over in Budapest, Hungary, the "Puli" lunar rover is known to be both low cost and lightweight. The robot is actually named after the particular Hungarian "Puli" dog breed. According to Tibor Pacher, the founder and CEO of PuliSpace, it was said that the main advantage of the shown design is that they are able to cover particularly harsh terrains. This means that they are able to climb upwards a 40-45 degree slope and they can also go upwards and also go downwards. This is not really trivial stuff especially when it comes to the moon's area.

Puli rover and other technologies

While the moon may have been discovered and walked on for tens of years now, there is still a lot that can be discovered. With the advancement of technology like with the Puli rover, there might be more for human beings to be able to explore not just on the moon but outer space in general.

There are a lot of other companies all working towards better space exploration and also the possibility of helping humanity evolve into an interplanetary species some time in the future like SpaceX. Elon Musk has been very public about his plans to be able to set up a Mars colony in the future.

Elon Musk SpaceX

Elon Musk has been working with SpaceX in order to make space flights much more affordable through the use of reusable rockets as well as better efficiency per launch. In a podcast with Joe Rogan, Elon Musk then noted that the rockets actually launch on 80% oxygen and just 20% gas. This would allow the rocket to be in line with Elon Musk's movements to help the environment and minimize climate damage through other companies like Tesla and SolarCity.

The Puli rocket is just one of the many innovations that has been made in order to further moon exploration. Scientists believe that exploring the moon would provide humanity with enough data to transition towards exploring Mars some time in the future.
