Samsung is reportedly developing two new laptops, the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360, which both includes OLED displays and will be compatible with the company's S Pen stylus.

Samsung's new OLED screen laptop

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Book Pro 360 is said to be available with 5G connectivity. The laptops were also first revealed in a Bluetooth certification filing that was announced in January.

SamMobile's report does not give any details about the specs of the OLED displays like the resolution or refresh rates that might be available.

But given that the Samsung laptops will be available with 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch screens, it seems unlikely that they will use the 14-inch 90Hz OLED displays that Samsung Displays stated it would be manufacturing starting on March.

These would not be the first of Samsung's set of laptops to support the S Pen. In 2020, Galaxy Book Flex 5G, Samsung's first 5G laptop, had an S Pen built in. However, it comes after Samsung announced a new pair of S Pen styluses together with the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Samsung has a standard S Pen that is sold separately from the phone, and later this year, a S Pen Pro is rumored to be released. The S Pen Pro is an ungraded version that adds Bluetooth and air gesture support. In January, Samsung stated that it is planning to bring S Pen support to more device categories.

Beyond the screens and S Pen support, the new Windows laptops are rumored to be powered by Intel Core i5 and i7 CPUs. The Galaxy Pro 360 is said to be a convertible 2-in-1 laptop, with a 360-hinge to allow the screen to be flipped around and used like a tablet.

If the reports about the upcoming devices are true, the two new laptops will join a list of other laptops that are announced by the tech company.

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2

The Galaxy Chromebook 2 is an Intel-powered Chromebook with a QLED display and stylus support that was announced in January. The laptop is rumored to be released in the first quarter of 2021, it has no AMOLED screen or any included stylus.

The Chromebook 2 still has the unique color of its predecessor but on paper the Chromebook 2 different, it is not fancy nor flashy, it is not pushing the boundaries of the category and is said to be just a regular Chromebook, according to The Verge.

The Chromebook 2 is thicker and heavier than its predecessor, it is 2.71 pounds and .55 inches thick. The Chromebook 2 has an FHD, a 1920 x 1080 QLED screen. The QLED panels, despite the same name, are not OLED panels, they are LED-backlit LCD screens that use Samsung's quantum-dot technology, according to Business Standards.

Although the feature is not as impressive, it does mean that the screen is bad. The Chromebook 2 is the first Chromebook to have a QLED display and QLEDs are very good. Samsung says that one can produce more than a billion colors. There is no built-in stylus, no keyboard deck camera and no fingerprint sensor.

Due to this, fans of Samsung are waiting what the two new laptops can offer and the tech giant is yet to release more details about the laptops.
