Activision Blizzard already confirmed during its financial results conference call that the video game "Diablo 4" won't be released in 20201. However, Blizzard Entertainment revealed an information that should help tide the eager fans of the game.

Diablo 4 release

For the longest time, a remaster of the video game has been rumored and now it has come true and is named "Diablo 2: Resurrected." This will replace "Diablo 4." Blizzard Entertainment already revealed the trailer of the game on its YouTube channel.

"Diablo 2: Resurrected" is being developed by Blizzard Entertainment and by Vicarious Visions, which was recently moved to be under Blizzard Entertainment instead of Activision just earlier this year.

The original 2D sprites have been moved into 3D graphics, with 4K support. This compilation includes both the original game and the expansion pack , "Lord of Destruction." The sound effects and soundtrack are also being adjusted with 7.1 surround sound support.

If you are not a fan of the remake, then you can still toggle the graphics with a button press and you can go back to the original game that was released years ago. Also, to the game's graphics, all 27 minutes of the original cinematics have been remade from scratch. The original game is still available on GOG.com.

"Diablo 2: Resurrected" will be available in Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4 and PS5. The video game supports all full cross-progression on all of the gaming platforms.

What is Diablo 2 about?

"Diablo 2" is a video game that focuses on action role-playing and it has a dark concept. It was created by Blizzard North and it was published by Blizzard Entertainment in 2000. It was released for Classic Mac OS, macOS and Microsoft Windows.

The video game has dark fantasy and horror themes, it was conceptualized and designed by Erich Schaefer and David Brevik, and together with Max Schaefer, acted as project leads on the game. Bill Roper and Matthew Householder were the producers of the game.

The predecessor, "Diablo" was released in 1997 and was very successful. "Diablo 2" was one of the most popular and successful video games of 2000. It has been deemed as one of the best video games ever made.

Some of the factors that added to the success of the video game franchise include its continuation of fantasy themes throughout the series. It also has access to the free online play service of Blizzard called Battle.net.

"Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction" was an expansion of the game and it was released in 2001. A sequel to the video game named "Diablo 3" was announced in 2008. It was released on May 15, 2012.

The storyline of the video game is divided into four different chapters, also called as Acts. Each of the act in the game has a path. However, the wilderness and dungeons between the cities in the game are generated.

Players gets to progress through the story by as they completing a series of quests within each of the act. There are also side dungeons for more experience and more monsters.
