Sony's 2020 pandemic answer to staying home and being entertained is called the "Play At Home" and now, the company brings it back another time to let players experience another round of freebies for the PS4. The pandemic is still here despite the COVID-19 vaccines already available and people are still advised to stay at home to avoid virus infection.

The popular initiative of the company for home gaming and staying at home is now back, and this time, it debuts with one of the most popular and favorite games on the platform, "Ratchet and Clank" from Insomniac Games. However, it is worth noting that these games would be available for the PlayStation 4 only, and is unclear whether it could be received by players with the PS5.

Moreover, the popular Japanese technology and media conglomerate, Sony, is bringing back this initiative for people to be entertained at home, despite the lockdown and everyday routine that involves staying inside. The company acknowledges that the COVID-19 pandemic has been a hard time for people, especially as it is almost a year since restrictions are established.

The best thing about the Play At Home initiative of Sony is that it does not require people to subscribe to the PlayStation Plus service to receive the free game. This means that everyone can avail of the free game for the PlayStation 4, provided that they have an existing or created a PlayStation account that would keep track of the claiming of the game.

According to the PlayStation Blog, the "Ratchet and Clank" game would soon be available for the PlayStation Store for everyone to claim to start March 1 onwards. Unlike last year which only allowed people to receive the Play At Home free games until April 2020, Sony is extending its accommodations to claim the game until early June.

Moreover, the company would allow people to play the game even after the claiming date closes or expires, as it is like a game that was purchased directly from the Sony PlayStation Store like the paid titles. However, in regions like Germany and China, they would receive a different title and it would be "Knack 2" from Japan Studio.

Sony is Also Offering Funimation and Wakanim Anime Subscription

On the other hand, Sony also offers an extended access subscription for new users that would join Funimation and Wakanim (in other countries) starting March 25, onwards. This means that people would have the chance to watch and stream premium anime titles that are under Funimation for free, but for a limited time only, courtesy of Sony.

All of these require an active Sony PlayStation account that is linked to one's PlayStation 4 to activate and claim the freebie. No other details were released by the company, regarding other titles that would come or promotions that would soon join the Play At Home Initiative.
