Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus, said that Nothing will release a new true wireless (TWS) earbuds. Will this upcoming wearable gadget be better than the current Apple AirPods?

The alleged TWS earbud is called Concept 1. According to The Verge's latest report, it is expected to arrive this coming summer. Concept 1 is designed by Tom Howard, the company's head of design and vice president at Nothing's partner Teenage Engineering.

Gadget 360 previously reported that Nothing's upcoming true wireless earbuds will have a transparent build with minimal aesthetics. As of the moment, Nothing is also working on other existing product categories while creating new technologies that would not include displays and screens.

"We peel off everything superficial, like unnecessary branding on the surface, to focus solely on what adds true value to the user experience. We spend as much time thinking about what it can remove from a product, as what it can add to it," said the company via Gadgets 360.

What to expect from Concept 1

Nothing's upcoming high-tech earbuds might be a promising innovation. However, the company said that it is currently not planning to release or sell its new TWS to the public. There's also no confirmation yet if the actual model is already complete or existing.

"While the same design principles will be followed and there will be similarities to Concept 1, the end product will look different," said an anonymous Nothing spokesperson.

The new tech firm said that the new Concept 1 embodies the three elements that will drive its design philosophy. These are specifically timelessness, effortlessness, and weightlessness.

Will Concept 1 really arrive? 

Nothing claimed that it already has concrete clues to show that the new true wireless earbuds could be a reality. The new tech company confirmed that it will use transparent materials to make it happen.

However, it is hard to conclude that it will be better than the current Apple AirPods. Aside from this, the interested consumers also won't have a chance to try it since the company is not planning to sell it once it is developed.
