The Microsoft logo is illuminated on a wall during a Microsoft launch event to introduce the new Microsoft Surface laptop and Windows 10 S operating system, May 2, 2017 in New York City. The Windows 10 S operating system is geared toward the education market and is Microsoft's answer to Google's Chrome OS.

This means that you can simply turn it off you don't want it. But, if you somehow decide to give it a thumbs up, Microsoft will automatically share your internet history, which includes the things you are searching for on the browser and the websites you are usually visiting.

However, the new feature would also come in handy since it will help you find essential information from your favorites, tops sites, recent tabs, and history. As of the moment, Microsoft hasn't confirmed if the upcoming update will also share your Incognito history.

How to prevent it

Microsoft Support's blog post explained that preventing internet history sharing is quite easy. All you need to do is follow these simple steps:

  • First, you need to click your Windows logo, which is located on the lower-left side of your screen.
  • After that, find the Settings option and go to the Privacy section.
  • Once you are there, you need to click the Activity History option.
  • The last thing you need to do is to clear the "Store My Activity History" option.
