Ludwig's Subathon Bests Ninja's All-Time Record

Ahgren called this feat the "Subathon" which was a move to gather subscriptions from fans and watchers via Twitch, which had the streamer claiming that he would not stop streaming until accumulating said numbers. Tyler Blevins, a.k.a. "Ninja," previously had this feat and was able to gather 269,154 subs during his attempt at this.

Ninja (@Ninja) has expressed his statement via Twitter, saying that "records are meant to be broken," and congratulates Ludwig for passing his all-time subscriber count after the feat for more than 30 days. Blevins said that he was a "little sad' for seeing his record beaten by Ahgren, but is ultimately happy for the streamer's achievement via the platform.

According to Kotaku, Ninja's attempt at his all-time high for subs was way back in 2018, where he was at the peak of his career at Twitch, holding it for more than three years, despite departing from the platform in 2019. However, fast forward to 2020, Twitch saw Ninja's return after Mixer shut down, and the record remains on the platform.

Subathon Deadline is a Charity Drive by Ludwig

Twitch rules prevent streamers to have a subathon for more than 31 days, and today, April 13, was the deadline for Ludwig, despite finishing or failing the challenge that he set himself up for. Moreover, today also marks the day where Ludwig pledged $5 per subscription which proceeds would head to St Jude's and The Humane Society until 9 PM PST.

Currently, the streamer has less than four hours for the donation drive to be completed, which is a lot of time to gather subs to be donated to a charitable cause pledged by Ahgren. Ludwig's attempt is the closest to Ninja's, which even defeated the popular streamer, as no one came remotely close to the content creators for their records.
