Media company Space Hero Partnerships LLC has signed a Space Act Agreement with NASA to study the feasibility of bringing the "Space Hero" reality show to the International Space Station.

The Space Hero mission - set for a 2023 launch - will be the world's "first-ever global casting show," which will see participants compete for the chance to be sent to the ISS. Commercial aerospace leader  Axiom Space loft the winner, and the journey might include a 24/7 immersive and interactive live stream.

A Treat for a Space Exploration Milestone

Space Hero and NASA signed the Space Act Agreement also fell on Apr. 12, a significant date in space exploration history. This year, the date marks the 60th year of the first human in space, was Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin completed one orbit of Earth in 1961. Since then, mankind has progressed to a level that allows man to go back and forth to space reliably.

Furthermore, Space Hero has been working to establish significant linkages with 20 space agencies worldwide, including the United States' NASA, Japan's JAXA, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), and the Nigerian and Brazilian space agency.

"We are grateful for the work that has been done in the space industry over the past six decades since Gagarin's flight. Democratizing access to space is now more important than ever," said Thomas Reemer, creator of Space Hero as well as its Co-CEO and Co-Founder.

Should completely materialize, Space Hero will be the first-ever global competition that would send a civilian into space - a $55 million, 10-day trip to the ISS. The once-in-a-lifetime journey is set to begin by the end of 2021, opening its casting call to anyone over 18 years old and is fluent in English, leading up to the 2023 reveal of its first big winner.

For the long run, Space Hero is looking at about 15 seasons over the next 30 years, and should human technologies allow by that time, will send people beyond the ISS and go to the Moon and Mars.
