The Apple TV 4K's New Siri Remote has given a new look to the device, and it included physical buttons that would make clicking it easier. However, an integral feature that could be used for gaming is removed. The different sensors and parameters that help it maintain a gaming feel when used are apparrently gone, and arcade games can no longer be fully functional.

Apple has recently concluded its April 20 event that featured the "Spring Loaded" tech it aims to bring to people, which has ushered a new era for the Cupertino giant in terms of branding. The new devices are the same ones that Apple have debuted years ago, only being upgraded with more colors, a reconfigured design, and better performance.

Another change ushered a new future for its technology and that is with the arrival of the new Apple TV 4K, which sadly has not yet rolled out its rumored 120Hz refresh rate for its display. This could have been a great introduction with its latest device, reconfigured remote, and 4K video capabilities, but people have to settle for 60Hz for now.

What is an added salt to the would for the 120Hz refresh rate is the reconfiguration of the Siri remote, as while it presents a silver finish with black accents, and physical buttons, it has removed essential features. According to Digital Trends, something which would be hard to notice at first has been removed by Apple, and it is the sensors it has for movement.

The accelerometer and gyroscope are two main proponents of the past Siri remote, and it brings gaming to the Apple TV 4K's added to list of features, apart from being a black box that streams and turns the TV into an Apple smart one. The feature before can pair up with an existing Apple Arcade subscription, and voila, an instant console right on one's hand.

This nifty feature may not have been Apple's most popular releases, but it certainly adds flair to the device and gives people the chance to switch entertainment modes from streaming to gaming. Apple Arcade also has a ton of games waiting for people to play, as it has improved its online gaming service and promotes it across its platforms.

Why Did Apple Remove it?

Apple has made it clear that the Apple TV 4K's new version would be feature-packed, especially as it debuted a connection to the iPhone to change its picture settings, which is a nifty one to set up. However, the initial rumors of it being more focused on gaming tend to be more and more unclear with the new remote.

While there are no explanations regarding this move, users cannot use the bundled New Siri remote with games that require motion controls, but can still play other titles. To use the function or play the said games, users would have to connect the old Siri remote or use console controllers such as the DualShock 4 or Xbox's controller.
