Yankees recently had a COVID-19 disease outbreak despite the vaccination and its management encourages using masks to avoid infection and spread.

Mask or No Mask? That is the major question a person with vaccine, and intending to watch a match, has amidst the CDC policy that approves of ditching it.

Face masks have been required strictly in most public places in the country to avoid the spread and transmission of the coronavirus which has put the world on its knees during the pandemic season. However, now that COVID-19 vaccines are helping to get the serious case and infection away, masks are not much of a requirement anymore.

Recently, COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna have been in massive circulation as they are the most recommended due to their mRNA-based components against that of the traditional AstraZeneca and Johnson's. The country is aiming to complete the vaccinations by the first half of the year to fight against the virus and stand up once again as a nation.

Yankees COVID-19 Disease Outbreak

Despite having been vaccinated against COVID-19 for a month now, several New York Yankees staff and a player, have tested positive for the coronavirus and have reported a disease outbreak amongst them. This has pushed the management to recommend the use of face masks once again while watching live games to avoid its transmission.

While the Yankees management does not require it, they highly recommend its use to keep people from worrying that they might get it from live games and avoid it overall. According to Wired, this is just a precaution from the team so that people would not be afraid of going out, especially as they already have been vaccinated against COVID.

CDC Policy on Vaccinated People and Face Masks

The masking recommendation of the Yankees contradicts the recent policy on face masks that was released by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently. According to CNet, the CDC advises vaccinated people that they are now free of face masks, and they can also integrate amongst the public without it.

Vaccinated people can test positive for COVID-19, but this does not necessarily mean that the immunization shots are ineffective. This only means that the virus is present in their systems. The vaccine and its process have already taught one's body to fight against it, and its effect is to help it avoid serious complications, even death.

Face Masks are still optional for vaccinated people, and this ensures a higher chance of protection against COVID-19. The Yankees' message of masking is mostly for those not yet vaccinated, especially as they blend with vaccinated people and get it from them without immunity against it.
