The Tesla Model S Signature is shown during a media preview day at the 2012 North American International Auto Show January 10, 2012 in Detroit, Michigan. The NAIAS opens to the public January 14th and continues through January 22nd.

His latest tweet about Tesla Model S Plaid was able to garner more than 6,400 retweets, 850 quote tweets, and 70,000 likes. Some of the commentators were amazed by Elon Musk's claim.

However, some claimed that Tesla Model S Plaid's top speed is useless since there are some countries where it is not allowed to go that fast.

"And what's the point of that in a production car?" said one of the commentators.

"You can't use that acceleration without a ticket or, in Virginia and some other states, a misdemeanor reckless driving charge," added the Twitter user.

Why Elon Musk Claims Tesla Model S Plaid is the Fastest?

According to Teslarati's latest report, the new Tesla Model S Plaid can achieve 0-60 mph in just 2 seconds or less, as claimed by Elon Musk. This is a great feature since there are only a few electric cars that can achieve this speed.

A Tesla model S sits parked outside of a new Tesla showroom and service center in Red Hook, Brooklyn on July 5, 2016 in New York City. The electric car company and its CEO and founder Elon Musk have come under increasing scrutiny following a crash of one of its electric cars while using the controversial autopilot service. Joshua Brown crashed and died in Florida on May 7 in a Tesla car that was operating on autopilot, which means that Brown's hands were not on the steering wheel.

Aside from this, Toms Guide also reported that the new electric vehicle can also have 1,100 horsepower, and can reach a top speed of 200 mph. This could be the main reason why Elon Musk considers it as the fastest accelerating car in production right now.

When it comes to design, the new electric car still has the same sedan frame, which is mostly featured by Tesla EVs. On the other hand, it also has 19 to 21 inches wheels, depending on the buyer's choice, as well as aerodynamics and other high-end features.

On the other hand, it also offers a tinted glass sunroof, Sentry Mode mobile app, 22-speaker audio, a yoke steering wheel, and more.

Tesla Model S Plaid's Final Delivery Date

Previously, Tesla Model S Plaid's customer release date was delayed. And now, Elon Musk confirmed that Tesla's new EV will have its final delivery date event on June 3. He added that this will take place at the Fremont factory in California.

On the other hand, some rumors and speculations claimed that the new Tesla Model S Plaid will cost around $114,490.
