The Apple iPad Pro M1 2021 has had a lot of changes for the latest release of the tablet, and it primarily has focused on the new Silicon chip of M1, but the Mini LED added to it garners a lot of buzz among users. The reason for its popularity is the so-called "Blooming Effect" it suffers from, despite Apple promising to reduce it with the new screen.

The Mini LED for the Apple iPad Pro M1 (12.9-inch variants) is also known as the "Liquid Retina XDR," and what it aims to deliver is a better display with "truer blacks" and "vibrant colors." It is worth noting that Mini LEDs also have a lot of tiny LED lights built onto one system, with Apple claiming that it is around 10,000, with 2,500 for its "dimming zones."

The Apple iPad Pro M1 with the Mini LED is tied to the 12.9-inch variants only, and has been reported to be facing supply and production issues, hence a later release date expected in early to mid-July. And while preorders of the latest M1 tablet from Apple have already started, people who have initially received the iPad Pro have already made remarks on its display and performance.

There were people which have already experienced the performance of the new iPad Pro with the M1, and its initial performance review is a spectacular achievement for Apple's new tech. Additionally, benchmark results of the tablet show significant growth compared to the 2020 version with the A12Z Bionic chip, which is also Silicon.

While its performance and capacity to hold massive tasks for the tablet have been impressing users, the display was where Apple now faces shades, especially as the swap to Mini LED sees mixed reviews. For some, it provides a spectacular display, but for other cases, it shows the phenomenon of the "Blooming Effect" which is brought by uncontrolled LEDs.

What is the Blooming Effect?

"Blooming effect" is when the screen of the device is black or has a dark background, and the lighter colors which show up on the screen have that luminous "aura" that shines from the object with color. The light leaks to the black background, and somehow shows a blurry or noisy look for the said image, instead of a defined color.

Initially, Apple's Retina and LEDs are aimed to reduce this effect, and according to Mac Rumors, this case is varying from different users, despite having the same iPad Pro M1 2021 with the Mini LED screens. Currently, the public has no way of seeing for themselves, apart from the review videos online, or its arrival in Apple Stores which would display it.
