'The Secret' - After the Hiatus
After an extremely long hiatus, the power-duo will come back with a brand new game. They have been working with the 3D artist Marcus Maximus Mera for the game's development.
As of June 2021, the duo announced that their new game is entitled "The Secret," but it still might change along the way because it is only a preliminary title. At this point, the only information that the duo spilled is that the game will be a "Sierra-flavored" single-player videogame, similar to the company's previous projects.
According to Engadget, "The Secret," will be an exciting adventure game based on the iconic duo's information. It could likely be for the younger generation's preference, and Mera's artistic 3D graphics will significantly contribute to giving "The Secret" a more modern approach. However, Sierra fanatics will still have a certain sense of nostalgia once they get their hands on the game.
"The Secret" currently has a website with information about the game, including behind the scenes, what is already available, and a short introductory video about Sierra Entertainment, dubbed by part-man, part-robot, and part-alien character, Space Quest Historian.
Ken stated via the official website that he has been consulting Roberta every day regarding the game, but her involvement in coding, and the actual development has been minimal. Nevertheless, fans expect that she will become more and more involved as the game's release date draws closer.
Roberta is responsible for Sierra Entertainment games' point-and-click layout, which contributes to the success of their previous games. Over her time in the industry, she got dubbed as the "Queen of Graphic Adventure."
'The Secret' - Additional Information
Based on the video found on the game's website, "The Secret" has been in the works for the past six months. Ken also mentioned that they are hoping to start beta testing by August 2021 because they plan to release the game in the market by November. However, he also added that the timeline would most likely extend because they currently only have placeholder graphics.
The iconic 90s gaming duo promised to release additional information about their upcoming game and demos and screenshots of the layout. But keep in mind that fans might have to wait a little longer than five months before Sierra Entertainment finally releases "The Secret."
