OnePlus is set to become a sub-brand of OPPO, according to a leaked company memo posted on Twitter.

It has only been a few days since both companies announced their integration and the leaked talking points memo provides even more insights to the agreement.

Posted by Evan Blass on Twitter, the memo states, "With the integration, OnePlus has become a brand with OPPO." It goes on to clarify that despite the latest development, OnePlus will continue on as an "independent entity."

OnePlus Leaked Memo: Important Points

OnePlus also makes clear in the memo the reason for the integration. The memo states that integrating with OPPO will help OnePlus streamline resources, operate more capably, and improve efficiencies.

The company doesn't foresee any impacts on carrier relationships in North America and Europe. Since OnePlus will remain an independent entity, no changes to the Nord product line is also anticipated.

OnePlus will likewise continue storing user data in its servers and will compete with OPPO in the same markets both companies operate in.

As for Pete Lau, the founder of OnePlus, the leaked memo states that he is the Chief Product Officer of OPPO and will therefore oversee the product strategies of both brands.

The integration is set to be completed by the end of this year.

What Will Change for OnePlus Users?

According to the leaked memo, OnePlus anticipates that any changes that users will experience due to the integration will be "positive." The company believes that having more resources at its disposal once the integration is complete will lead to more efficiency in operations.

What won't change are the channels through which customers contact OnePlus. As the brand will remain independent, so will its contact channels.

They also see a positive impact on their future products as the OnePlus management hopes having more resources will mean the brand can create better products to sell to the market..
