"Halo Infinite" developers are aiming for a holiday 2021 release for the game, according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer.
Spencer clarified that the team behind the next release in the franchise is "very committed" to a holiday release date during a recent interview.
"Halo Infinite" made an appearance during E3 2011 but fans took note of the lack of a release date. This once more led to concerns that the game was going to be delayed yet again. The game was previously scheduled for a holiday 2020 release, but was delayed until 2021.
According to IGN, this was due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the mixed reaction to the first gameplay reveal.
Halo Infinite Release Date: When Will It Be?
Addressing the concerns regarding a potential second delay, Spencer said that the lack of a release date is "not because a delay of months is possible, but because a delay of a few weeks is possible."
He also added in the interview that developers of "Halo Infinite" are looking at a three to four week range for the game's release date. Other game timings are also being considered in making a final decision.
Ultimately, the developers "feel good" about having a holiday release this year.
In its report, Comic Book predicts that the game will be released a few weeks before or after "Forza Horizon 5," which is scheduled for a November 9, 2021, release.
Halo Infinite: What We Know So Far
While the release date for "Halo Infinite" has not yet been finalized, there are other details about the game that have been confirmed ever since its official announcement to the public.
"Halo Infinite" will serve as the sixth main entry of the "Halo" franchise following 2015's "Halo 5: Guardians." According to Comic Book, it will be playable on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
Master Chief will make his return to the game, which will also heavily focus on its multiplayer setup. For its multiplayer mode, developers have announced that it will support cross-platform play and progression.
A Background on Halo
