AMD Ryzen 5 5600X restock is selling online for its exact SRP! For those that are wondering why this might seem like a big deal, it is because most other PC parts are selling for marked up prices going as high as 100% more expensive.

Demand for PC Parts

PC building in this day and age is extremely hard to do because of scalpers buying most of the high-demand computer parts and selling them at much higher prices. Naturally, the more in-demand a certain PC part is, the higher it is being sold.

This is true with certain computer components like the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT and other PC components as well.

Although GPUs generally sell more expensive than CPUs, the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X shows that CPUs are being marked up as well. The reason for this is the difference in demand between the GPUs and the CPUs.

While CPUs might be needed in making functional computers, GPUs also serve an extremely large market, crypto mining.

Why are GPUs so Expensive?

According to an article by Economist, crypto miners are probably the reason why GPU prices have been extremely high recently. The statement actually holds some truth as GPU prices in China actually dropped by 45% due to the country's crackdown on crypto mining, according to an article by Tom's Hardware.

The reason for this massive effect on prices is because China is reportedly responsible for 65% of Bitcoin mining, as per CNBC.

Since crypto mining requires very powerful graphics cards, gamers have to compete directly with crypto miners, which have been increasing in magnitude over the last few years as cryptocurrency's popularity grew as well.

With the massive competition in the gaming world alone, plus crypto miners in the picture, the evidence of scarcity is seen in how GPUs can fetch such marked up prices. When it comes to CPUs, however, the reason why there is still a markup is because of the demand on certain chips.

No Price Hike for the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X?

However, it seems like not all chips are being sold at extremely high prices.

When buyers want to purchase certain key PC parts, or even consoles like the PS5 restock or the Xbox Series X restock, they usually follow restock tracker accounts online. A particular restock tracker on Twitter just posted a tweet notifying that there is a new AMD Ryzen 5 5600X restock on Amazon.

To much surprise, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X sold for $299 on Amazon.

According to PCMag, this is the current US street price. Although the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X might not be as powerful as the Ryzen 9 5900X, for those that don't want to overpay when it comes to their CPU, buying the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X could be an option as scalper prices for other CPUs are taking over the majority of the market.
