Snapchat users, here's some good news for you! The social media app has gone from "Snapchat down" to "Snapchat no longer down" and you can finally use it again. Hooray!

You read that right! Snapchat is up and working once more, according to a tweet posted by Snapchat Support on its official Twitter account.

It is good news for those who have been wondering what's wrong with Snapchat or why Snapchat won't open after an unknown issue caused the social media app to crash.

Snapchat Down: What Happened Earlier

"Snapchat down" were the two words that thousands of people typed in search engines and apps such as Facebook and Twitter after users had a hard time opening the app a few hours ago.

"Is Snapchat down," "Why is Snapchat not working," and "Is Snapchat down right now" are just some of the many questions that users asked online.

Snapchat Support acknowledged the problem with a tweet that states that they are aware of the issue and are looking for a way to fix the problem.

The tweet reads, "Hang tight, we are looking into it and working on a fix!"

Snapchat No Longer Down: Still Having Trouble?

Around five hours after Snapchat went down, the social media app is now up and running once more.

A followup tweet by Snapchat Support says that the issue has already been resolved and can be opened once more by Snapchatters around the world.

Despite the fix, there's still a possibility that users may encounter some trouble with opening the social media app. According to Snapchat Support, Snapchatters simply have to manually update the app in the app store.

Snapchat Down: A (Recent) History

Snapchat has a history of crashing every now and then and this latest incident of "Snapchat down" will probably not be the last of it.

Just last month, Snapchat repeatedly crashed due to the version 11.34.0.35 iOS update introduced by the social media app.

The bug only affected Apple users at that time since Android users did not report any problems with Snapchat.

A patch update was eventually released to fix the issue and Snapchatters were able to launch the social media app again.

Last year, there were also incidents of "Snapchat down" as well, particularly in the months of March and April.

What is Snapchat?

Snapchat is a multimedia social media platform that has around 293 million daily users. Created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown, Snapchat was launched a decade ago.

The social media app allows users, often referred to as Snapchatters, to share messages as well as short videos on the app.

It is available for download in the App Store for Apple users and Play Store for Android users.
