Samsung's XCover line-up has been showing some uniqueness compared to other smartphone series. This 2021, the latest of the batch is the XCover 5, which appears to be a more convenient version of the former XCover Pro.

From its price to its weight, the newest XCover release is intended for those who have rough jobs. Dubbed as the 2021 Hulk Phone, this smartphone promises so much potential, especially due to its military-grade usage.

Should you purchase it at the end of the day?

The usual feature of XCover phones is the prominent red button located on the left side. This specific part, known as the XCover key, has been useful when scanning a barcode.

The most common users of this Hulk phone are those logistic workers who need to inventory and track the products through a barcode scanning application.

For those who are stuck in the dark, the XCover 5's key button is not only used to gain access to the barcode scanner. This could also transform into an easy-access flashlight that will guide you in the dark.

GSM Arena reported that the XCover 5 has a replaceable battery. Many smartphones nowadays do not adopt that transition, but switching batteries could provide more convenience to the users, especially during emergencies.

Since this is a military-grade phone, it is most preferred by those who don't mind something heavy in their pockets.

The good news for this phone is its durability since several modern phones would be destroyed upon falling to the floor. Samsung's newest XCover flagship will not do the same thing. Plus, its 1.5m-deep-water resistance will allow you to retrieve it with ease when soaked in water.

Pros of Samsung Galaxy XCover 5

According to Bangkok Post, even though the Hulk phone is popular due to its rubberized case and durable exterior, the phone's speed might be disappointing when compared to other line-ups.

The speedy phones that are currently existing could run multiple apps with ease, but the XCover 5 might render slow operation upon opening an application.

Besides requiring more load time, its display is only limited to 720p.

Cons of Samsung Galaxy XCover 5

The slow computing of this smartphone could make up for its impressive battery life.

If you are looking for long out-of-town vacations, this phone could be your best friend. It could last for two days if you set aside opening gaming apps. There is also a POGO charging port made for users who usually engage in fieldwork.

If you are working in a rough job industry like engineers and construction workers, this phone will suit your needs.

Previously, some leaks pointed out XCover 5 specs. Somehow, the rumors showed that it could have thick bezels and small displays.

In related news, Samsung said last month that its upcoming phones would have a telephoto pro mode for enhanced mobile photography.
