Deleting Facebook also entails that you are about to lose connection to some people that you only keep tabs with via the social media platform, according to Mashable.

As such, before officially breaking up with Facebook, review your Friends list and ask for an alternative means to contact them.

It should also help to give some friends a heads up regarding your move. Some may think that you have cut them off by simply deleting your account.

Check Apps Logged to Your Facebook

There are times that some of us were lazy enough to fill out personal information when creating an account for a new app or game. So instead, we have been tempted to tap on the "Log in with Facebook" button to make life easier.

However, now that you are deleting your Facebook account, do check which apps rely on it.

To do so, go to the Settings page and select "Apps and Websites."

Download your Facebook Data

  • Select "Settings and Privacy."
  • Click "Settings"
  • Then, tap "Your Facebook Information"
  • After which, select "View" to tap "Download Your Information.

And that's it. You're all set to delete your Facebook account.
