Some Tesla owners would participate in the upcoming EV battery study of Australia's University of Queensland (UQ). The school confirmed this detail on Wednesday, Nov. 17.

The upcoming electric car research aims to know if the batteries integrated into Teslas could power energy grids and act as energy sources of houses in the future.
Right now, electric vehicles are relying on advanced batteries for power. There are other zero-emission cars that have other power sources. But, most experts claim that batteries are way better than those that hydrogen cell-based, hybrid, and other types of zero-emission automobiles.
Aside from providing energy to EVs, the researchers at Australia's UQ said that your spare Tesla battery could also power up energy grids.
Tesla Owners to Participate in a new EV Battery Study
According to Reuter's latest report, the new Australian study would recruit some Tesla car owners across the globe. The initial plan of the University of Queensland experts aims to have 500 participants.

"(The study) will not only help to inform EV policy internationally but importantly assess the feasibility of using EVs as batteries-on-wheels," said one of the involved researchers, Jake Whitehead.
On the other hand, the Australian experts also explained that around one-eighth of the daily driving range is used by Tesla vehicles. They added that there's a chance that the batteries could be used to export power to energy grids using V2V chargers.

Tesla India Also Makes EV Initiative of Its Own
News 18 reported that Tesla India had purchased portable inverters. This new initiative was made possible with the help of a Noida-based startup.
The giant EV maker said that these new inverters would act just like electric vehicle charging stations.
In other news, Tesla Supercharger stations would soon offer an internet connection. On the other hand, Elon Musk's company blames global chip for the missing USB-C port issue of the Tesla Model Y.
