"Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell" is getting a remake, and Ubisoft has confirmed that the game is coming soon to fit the modern consoles of this generation. The beloved stealth shooter gaming franchise has been one of the most popular titles from the beloved author, best known for making political and action novels adapted into games.

Earlier today, Ubisoft announced that a "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell" remake is coming from the company, focusing its efforts on the popular title getting back to production. The game would center on Ubisoft Toronto and is now hiring different roles to develop the game, contributing to its overall story and plot to the modern console.

The first "Splinter Cell" game was known to release last 2002 and ended previous 2013 with a total of eight games on its franchise alone.

The fictional "Third Echelon" of the NSA is forming to bring back Sam Fisher, the franchise's special operative known for his incredible skills as an analyst and spy, completing the mission and saving the world.

Ubisoft Remake, Not a Sequel?

The game from Ubisoft would not be a sequel to 2013's "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist," but would be a remake of the franchise's first game, providing a fresh take on it. There are no known details to be added or changed in the game. Still, speculations revolve around adding a multiplayer experience for the title, not present in the first and original game.

Ubisoft has not yet announced a release date for the title, as it would still only begin its hiring process. 

Tom Clancy Shooter Games

There has been a teaser regarding the new "Tom Clancy" game from Ubisoft earlier this year, but it did not satisfy the gamers with its announcement as it did not focus much on the title reveal. It was said that the game was referring to a "The Division" sequel, or at best something from the popular franchise of the game.

However, it was revealed that a new "Rainbox Six" game would be coming to the public by the first month of 2022, as speculations say. The game is called "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Extraction," It would focus on a new round of the popular franchise to pick up on the 2019 title "Rainbow Six Siege," released in 2015.

The popularity of Tom Clancy games have in the past years only shows how much of a success the franchise is, joining the likes of "Call of Duty" from Activision and other shooter titles. However, Tom Clancy titles are best known for their storyline and plot that focuses on more than an action game, but a political conspiracy revolving around the Ryan verse.
