"Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" professional gamer S1mple has shocked a lot of fans when he was hailed as the PC Esports Player of the Year during the Esports Awards 2021. All throughout the year, his team, Natus Vincere or NAVI has been dominating the rest of the teams in the majority of the events.

For the year 2020-2021, the star player of the Ukrainian team showed impressive stats per game and that's something every opponent needs to watch out for. Here's what you need to know about this FPS star.

According to a report by AFK Gaming, Oleksandr "S1mple" Kostyliev's stellar performance was attributed to his role as an effective pacesetter on the team. For the past 2021: CS: GO circuit, NAVI has not shown any weakness to its rivals after coming up unblemished in every series.

What Natus Vincere held during its smooth run was evidently seen in the performance of its members, but the most noticeable difference was from the NAVI juggernaut.

Besides the competitive circuit that NAVI won this year, the Ukrainian squad also dominated two most awaited events of "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive." The team cleared its way to grab the PGL Stockholm Major 2021, as well as the Intel Grand Slam Season 3.

So far, the greatness that S1mple achieved with his teammates was beyond imaginable. He pocketed seven (7) individual titles, achieving a record of max MVPs in just a year.

Besides that, S1mple's sharp instinct not only brought awards to NAVI but also an improvement to their rookie. Newcomer Valerii "b1t" Vakhovskyi debuted in flawless fashion due to their successive wins in "CS:GO." He was also nominated as the Esports Rookie of the Year during the Game Awards 2021.

S1mple as the Best Esports Athlete of the Year 

After emerging on top of the ladder with other CIS pros in "CS: GO," S1mple took the world by the storm when he proved what he's all about. Besides him, the following players are nominated in the Esports Player of the Year 2021.

The last player "sh1ro" is also a professional player from "Counter-Strike" while the remaining nominees came from different esports such as "Dota 2," "Rainbow Six," and more.

Indeed, what NAVI did this year was beyond S1mple, since some of its players were also nominated for the annual awards event. Even their head coach, Andrii "B1ad3" Gorodenskyi was selected as a nominee for the Esports Coach of the Year, according to Sportskeeda.

Meanwhile, Japan is preparing to open its first-ever esports high school for aspirants in April 2022, as Tech Times reported last Dec. 23.
