macOS Monterey 12.3 Beta 2 Fix Battery Drain Mess

The Bluetooth battery drain issue began with the release of the macOS Monterey 12.2 last January, which surprised numerous users after their Macs instantly drained to 0% overnight.

As per a news story by MacRumors, Apple has released macOS 12.3 beta 2, which appears to have fixed the battery draining issue on MacBooks.

The beta version of the macOS Monterey 12.3 has been released to developers, and its users are saying that the battery drain issue due to Bluetooth has now been resolved.

As such, MacBooks with the latest macOS beta installed no longer experience interrupted sleep mode, which instantly drains their battery.

A tweet from a Twitter user that goes by the name of Mr. Macintosh further confirmed that Apple has already addressed the Bluetooth and battery issue with the Beta 2 update.

He tweeted that his 2018 MacBook Pro, which previously drained its battery while asleep, no longer faces the same issue after installing the macOS 12.3 update.

MacBook Bluetooth Battery Drain Issue

The battery drain issue has been affecting MacBook users who installed the macOS Monterey 12.2, according to a report by 9to5Mac.

The annoying issue drains MacBooks from 100% to 0% even if it is only in sleep mode for a long time. It turns out that the Apple machine has been waking up all throughout the time that its users thought that it was asleep.

Users have then discovered that the culprit is none other than the faulty Bluetooth connectivity from the software update, which has been waking Macs while it should have been on sleep mode.

Meanwhile, as per a report by MacWorld, the Cupertino-based tech giant rolled out the 12.2 macOS update to MacBook users last Jan 26, which replaces the 12.1 version of the operating system.

Aside from the battery drain issue, macOS 12.2 brings tons of bug fixes for the Mac and its built-in browser, Safari.

That said, those who are using the stable version of the macOS will have to wait until either March or April for its public release.

So, in the meantime, the only way to avoid the draining issues is to turn off the Bluetooth option before putting your MacBook on sleep mode.
