Snapchat can now let you discover live entertainment events within its Snap Map, thanks to its partnership with Ticketmaster.

On Wednesday, Feb. 16, the social media platform announced that the new feature would be added under Ticketmaster Mini. The feature will match users with events near them that the app thinks they will be interested in.

Snapchat's New Feature

The feature will have a rocket icon, which can be seen in Snapchat's Chat section. Once clicked, users will be asked to answer a brief survey to give the feature an idea about their interest, according to Engadget.

The app will display upcoming live events based on the preferences entered, and users can scroll through them to see the list. Snapchat sees this as a dating app that pairs users with events instead of partners.

If you see an event you want to attend, you can check your friend list to see if some of them will attend. You can also invite people to the event and create a guest list through chat.

You can also post the event on Snapchat Stories to see if other people are interested in attending too. Once you have decided on an event, you will be redirected to Ticketmaster's website to buy the tickets.

Users will be able to check the upcoming events at venues near them through Layer on Snap Map. The social media company noted that this is the first time it has integrated a partner to Snap Map through the Layers feature.

The app's Layers feature allows you to add data from some of Snap's developer partners directly to your map so you can check the world in a particular view.

The feature is set to be released in 21 countries, including Canada, Australia, Belgium, Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Ireland, Norway, Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The announcement regarding the new feature comes a few days after Snapchat announced that it plans to introduce mid-roll advertisements during Snapchat stories for its biggest creators, also known as Snap Stars.

A spokesperson for Snapchat told TechCrunch that the feature is in its early stages and is being tested by a couple of creators in the United States, but the platform plans to roll it out to Snap Stars outside the United States in the next few months.

These advertisements will appear as mid-roll ads inside their Snap Stories, and the creators will get to earn a share of the revenue.

The payout is determined by a specific formula, including audience engagement and posting frequency as its criteria.

Snapchat on AR

Snapchat also teamed up with Samsung Australia to release AR'Clipse Lens, according to MarketingMag.

Snapchat users will be able to point their cameras to the sky and activate the lens. It will reveal the beautiful contrast and immersion between light and dark.

Samsung also teamed up with Snapchat to give users an integrated camera experience. Starting with the Galaxy S22 series, you can use the zoom feature with telelens and night mode from the Snapchat app.
