Livestreaming has become a mainstay for the majority of the social media and video-viewing platforms online. For people who want to regularly keep in touch with their favorite streamers, there's now an easy way that will show you if they are already running a content video.

Through the TikTok-style feature "Live rings," you will now know if they are going live. This indicator will appear on YouTube profiles if they are broadcasting their content.

YouTube rolls out Live Rings which will help you see if your favorite content creator is streaming. The feature is inspired by TikTok.

According to a report by The Verge earlier this week, there's a new indicator that will tell you if your favorite content creator is streaming content on a channel.

Through the new YouTube Live rings, you can now easily see the red highlight on the profile picture of a user, along with the word "LIVE" at the bottom. If you want to immediately access the live stream, you can simply tap it so you can jump right away to the content.

YouTube Gets Inspiration From TikTok

Android Headlines wrote in another article that this feature is not new anymore to video-sharing platforms. Apparently, it appears that YouTube emulated this unique feature from TikTok which initially started its own version.

Compared to TikTok rings, YouTube's rings appear to be thicker and have a more "red" highlight. ByteDance's video-focused service seems to feature a "pulsating" profile picture aside from the spiral animation.

Other than that, the same rings might ring a bell for someone who uses Instagram. This Meta-owned social media platform has quite a similar feature for live streaming users.

Instead of just red color, a multi-color ring flashes on the profile pictures of the content creators. They could be seen on the top of the feed.

What About YouTube Vanced?

In a similar report by the same tech site, YouTube Vanced reverted the dislike counter for all clips on the platform. We could remember that in 2021, it decided to remove the feature on YouTube.

At that time, people were disappointed to hear the news about it. The majority opposed the idea of removing it even though no one asked for it in the first place.

Now, it seems that the dislike counter is back once again thanks to YouTube Vanced. Aside from bringing this alternative, you might also want to check its ultra-dark mode, ad-blocking, and customization features on your list.
