Wordle is one of the most popular games right now. It focuses on lore, geography, and even NSFW. Now, a music version of the game is available, and it is called Heardle.

Heardle is Wordle for Your Ears

According to CNET, with Heardle, players listen to a short audio clip and they get six chances to guess what song it is. In the first round, the clip is only a second long, but more of the track is played as the player burns through chances or skips a round.

In the final round, players get to hear a full 16 seconds of the song. It is similar to Name That Tune, though the system autocompletes artist names and songs as you type.

It helps if you are updated on current music, as each Heardle is randomly picked from a list of the songs most streamed on Soundcloud in the past 10 years, according to its developer, Omaske Studio.

You can play the game on your computer, phone, or tablet but, like Wordle, the app only saves your streak only if you play on the same device each day.

Other Versions of the Game

For music fans with more specific tastes, there's Taylordle, where Taylor Swift fans can guess words relating to the Grammy-winning singer's oeuvre.

There is also Weezle, which lets players get six tries to guess a five-letter word from Weezer's discography. This game was launched on Mar. 3, according to The Verge.

If you play the game, it is best to keep in mind that you can only play one puzzle a day as it creates a certain level of stakes. You only get one shot at the Wordle. If you mess up, you have to wait until tomorrow to get a brand new puzzle.

Also, it should be noted that everyone is playing the exact same puzzle. This is crucial as it makes it easier to call a friend and talk about the puzzle. It makes the game more fun as it allows you to connect with other people.

In fact, Twitter banned Wordlinator, a bot that spoils Wordle on the platform as people tweet each other to solve the game.
