GENEVA, SWITZERLAND - MARCH 06: The KIA logo is seen during the 83rd Geneva Motor Show on March 6, 2013 in Geneva, Switzerland. Held annually with more than 130 product premiers from the auto industry unveiled this year, the Geneva Motor Show is one of the world's five most important auto shows.

On the other hand, the electric vehicle sales of the South Korean carmaker saw an opposite trend than its fuel-powered cars as it massively increased by an impressive 55 percent from its performance last year.

Meanwhile, the Kia EV6 sold a total of 5,281 vehicles in the US last month. In February, the carmaker said that it only delivered 3,156.

According to a recent report by The Korea Herald, the Kia EV6 sedan was launched under the electric-global modular platform of the South Korean carmaker.

It is worth noting that Kia still plans to release a new version of its EV6 electric sedan sometime in 2022, which will be boasting a high-performance variant.

NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 28: The Hyundai logo is displayed at the New York International Auto Show, March 28, 2018 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. SUVs and crossovers are expected to capture most of the attention at this year's show. Despite car sales declining for the first time in seven years in 2017, SUVs and crossovers remain a bright spot in the auto industry. The auto show opens to the public on March 30 and will run through April 8.

On the flip side, its overall car sales decreased by 21 percent from its 2021 figures.

Despite that, Hyundai also noted that its Elantra Hybrid and Nexo booked their all-time "monthly retail and total sales records."

But the all-electric vehicle of the South Korean carmaker that goes by the name Hyundai Ioniq 5 sold about 2,700 units in March.

It is to note that the sales performance of the Kia EV6 outperformed the electric compact crossover of Hyundai, at least in the US last March.

The Korean Herald noted in its news story that Hyundai is already planning to release the successor of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the upcoming Ioniq 6, this 2022.
