MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 31: An Android statue is displayed in front of a building on the Google campus on January 31, 2022 in Mountain View, California. Google parent company Alphabet will report fourth quarter earnings on Tuesday after the closing bell.

The leak claims that the search engine tech giant is currently working on an option to allow Android users to use a single eSIM chip to run two carriers at the same time, giving it a dual sim treatment.

For the uninitiated, eSIM is used as a digital alternative for physical SIM cards. It works as a chip in the internals of a smartphone, which only allows a single carrier or subscriber line.

But Google is said to have been working on a way to let two carriers at once in a single eSIM chip, which should provide Android users with dual SIM support in the future.

It is interesting to point out that Google was first granted with the dual eSIM support technology way back in 2020, according to a recent story by Tom's Guide.
