A new study claims that brisk walking can slow down biological aging. Many individuals think that this slow physical activity is just for older adults.

They prefer jogging over brisk walking since the faster exercise can help them lose more fat. 

However, the new research titled "Investigation of a UK biobank cohort reveals causal associations of self-reported walking pace with telomere length" explained that slow walks could actually help slow biological aging. 

"A faster walking pace may be causally associated with longer LTL, which could help explain some of the beneficial effects of brisk walking on health status," explained in the study, which Leicester published in the Communications Biology journal

Fox 10 explained that the participants did in the latest biological aging study. Around 50% of the involved individuals decided to walk at a normal pace.

On the other hand, 6% of them walked at a slower speed. Meanwhile, around 41% of the participants relied on a brisk walking pace. 

Those who walked the slowest have some health complications, such as chronic diseases. On the other hand, the brisk walkers had better health statuses. 

Because of this, experts concluded that individuals who are regularly brisk walking have slower biological aging compared to other people.
