Rivian is making a big change in its production, particularly with the way they prioritize several parts or factors in their manufacturing plants to speed up its orders. However, it is not good news for all, as another person's preorder will gain a faster priority, but others' vehicle parts and production may suffer, especially for those whose cars have already started their assembly.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - NOVEMBER 09: Rivian employees stand beside the new all-electric pickup truck by Rivian, the R1T, as it sits at one of its facilities on November 09, 2021 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City.

According to an email sent out to reservation holders (via CNet), Rivian told them that they will reorganize their production and plant priorities for faster deliveries in the company. Their EV production will take a turn for the better and focus on what will ultimately make its products better for everyone that bought their cars.

The priority for Rivian will focus on the most efficient materials or parts needed for an electric vehicle, and by doing this, it can speed up production and assemble cars unlike before. Then, the company will work on other parts to bring and complete an electric car.

The principle is simple and would help Rivian to better its production so that it would also save time and resources.

Not All Users will Gain from Rivian's Reorganization

Rivian focuses its technology and electric vehicles to answer the soon-to-be deserted car production that creates the adventure cars for off-road and the like. Its electric pickup truck and SUV will answer this void and fill in what people need from the vehicle.

However, in this new production by the company, not all will benefit from it. Reservation holders which already have their cars coming near to their production may be affected by this restructuring, but it is a small change only.

Rivian and its Electric Vehicles

Rivian officially unveiled its R1T electric pickup trucks and R1S electric SUVs to the market last year, and it brought massive excitement to the world as it is one of the promising startups for EVs. Preorders came earlier than its release, and people thought that it would be ready by the last months of 2021, with some having it for 2022.

There are many delays to Rivian's production, and one of the reasons is due to the production plant it has that cannot fully carry out the needs of the public. Rivian then announced their ventures to create a new plant in Georgia that will carry out its future productions for faster deliveries and focus on creating more of its electric cars.

For now, the reorganization of its production will help in ensuring that most EV shipments and their availability will arrive to customers faster than before. However, it does not leave out the fact that it will have others waiting longer, particularly those that have their electric vehicles already starting their manufacturing and assembly in the company.
