Today, Rens the Finnish sustainable start-up behind the world's first coffee sneaker,announces its first foray into the metaverse and apparel, with the launch of its climate-neutral 'Elemental' hoodie collection and limited edition NFT - available to pre-order from April 26, for the first 2,022 orders.

Launching in the metaverse

Striving to innovate and respond to customer needs in the sector, Rens will be taking its first step into the metaverse by unveiling a limited edition collection of 2,022 NFTs, which will be gifted to the first 2,022 pre-orders of it's Elemental collection. Available in three tiered and collectable categories, the collection will consist of; 'Regular', 'Rare' and 'Epic' designs, which listed in chronological order will go up in value based on the scarcity of quantities available. 'Regular' will consist of 2,000 NFTs, 'Rare' at 20, and 'Epic' at 2, which will be the most coveted and collectable - and distributed at random to the first 2,022 customers. 

An early adopter of the metaverse, Rens already accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum, USD Coin, Dai and Bitcoin Cash as a form of payment, and has strong ties to the industry, with investment from major players in the metaverse space for Rens future projects. 

Climate Neutral Coffee Hoodie

Alongside the launch of its limited edition NFT's, Rens will be making its first foray into apparel with the launch of its climate neutral Elemental hoodie collection. This follows the success of their latest crowdfunding campaign for their Nomad sneaker which reached financial targets in under just 2 hours. 

Continuing to actively listen to customer feedback to shape its product offering, the Elemental collection introduces the brand's latest product innovation, which combines the use of its signature waste-based materials created from used coffee grounds and recycled plastic, with the introduction of a new material composition - the use of 'super-material' bamboo viscose. 

Continuing to innovate and drive sustainability, bamboo viscose which is known for its remarkable physical properties, includes a host of advanced benefits, including natural deodorising and water wicking technology, to keep skin cool and dry, ensuring optimum comfort and durability for the wearer. 

Perfect as activewear or for the everyday, the considered design and attention to detail helps to take the humble sweater, elevating it to must-have wardrobe status. Including a soft fleece inner lining built for ultimate comfort, the Elemental hoodie also features a hidden internal pocket to keep items safe and secure without compromising on style. The collection is available in five flattering colours including black, white, red, turquoise and peach. 

In addition to the new material composition, Rens will continue its work with ClimatePartner to offset carbon emissions at every step of the production process, to create a product that is certified carbon neutral.

Costing $109 / £85 Rens Coffee Hoodie will be available to pre-order from April 26, 2022 from Rens Original website and will be shipping to the US, UK and EU.
