Air fryers became popular after the global pandemic started. These simple cooking devices attract a lot of consumers since they are pretty easy to use.

All you need to do is put your desired food in the container and set the timer. After that, your dish is ready to eat. What makes air fryers different from other cooking electronics is that they actually no longer need oil to cook food. 

Because of this, many consumers tend to put anything they want inside their air fryers. However, there are some foods that are not really advisable to be cooked using an air fryer. 

Foods You Should Not Cook in an Air Fryer!

Popcorn

If you want to have popcorn as your snack for your at-home movie nights, then the best thing you can do is order. Cooking popcorn using your air fryer will not turn out pretty well this gadget's normal temperature is between 350 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, which is still below the heat needed for the popcorn to pop. 

Cheese 

Cheese will be another issue. Air fryers are not really advisable to be used to cook burgers with melting cheese. Remember, cheese can easily burn in high temperatures. 

Hamburgers

Since hamburgers are commonly red meat, it will be hard to achieve the crisp and juicy inner meat part if an air fryer is used to cook it. 

Aside from these three, here are other foods you need to avoid: 

  • Battered Foods
  • Whole Roasts
  • Toast
  • Roast Chicken 
  • Fresh Greens  

Air Fryer Do's and Dont's 

Aside from avoiding foods that are bad for your air fryer, there are also other do's and dont's that you need to practice, such as the following: 

DO

  • Always keep the food in a single layer. 
  • Read the manual thoroughly before using the air fryer. 
  • Always remember to use a timer. 

DONT's 

  • Don't place your air fryer near electric outlets. 
  • Don't leave the air fryer plugged in when not in use. 
  • Avoid using oven-safe mitts or silicone gloves. 
  • Don't use cooking sprays that are chemical-based. 
  • Don't put too much food inside the air fryer.
