Students get a lower price to subscribe on different platforms, provided they have proof of enrollment and stay at the university to support it. Apple Music is one platform that offers a student discount for the general public, but it recently raised its prices for its subscription plans that it did not announce to its users.
Apple Music Raises Subscription Prices on Student Plans

A customer in South Africa got an email from Apple regarding its Music subscription platform that a change is coming at its subscription prices. The email reads that Apple is observing this change for all. It will apply by June 20 for all subscribers in the region, focusing on its many subscription features available in various countries.
The current price it has on South Africa is $1.49, but it will soon change to $1.99 in United States Dollars for all under the Student Plan in the country. It is only a minimal $0.50 change, but there will still be a price increase that students will feel when they pay for their monthly subscription.
There are no announcements from Apple regarding this change and only the email to its subscribers.

Apple Music Student Plans in the US: No Hike?
The United States' Apple Music Student Plan have a different price from other countries, as it is more expensive compared them. It is at $4.99 a month in the US, instead of the usual $9.99 for the standard or regular subscribers that do not have proof that they are students.
No announcements and silent emails came from Apple for US subscribers regarding a price hike in their platform.
Apple Music and its Offers for the World
Apple Music is a subscription platform that brings all things music to its subscribers, mainly focusing on iOS users with the native app built-in and available to their devices upon purchase. The Cupertino company's music streaming platform focus on bringing many features for everyone, particularly with its recent Spatial Audio addition.
Like other music streaming platforms, its premium features and access offer free trials to experience the application and the many attributes that make it one contender to other rivals. However, there was a change in Apple Music's offers in recent times, as its three-month trial that will help on its subscription got reduced to one month only.
Subscribers are still using Apple Music for its accessibility and comprehensive library that help in bringing the latest and favorite songs to its users. The price hike in Apple Music's Student Plans is only minimal, but it will surely change many things in the platform as it is something that it did not announce for its subscribers in the current setup.
