Pinterest may be a social networking experience where one views different photos and collects them for a specific peg board that will help them conceptualize designs and backgrounds. However, it wants to offer more to the public soon, particularly with hints of online shopping and a marketplace via its latest acquisition of "The Yes."

According to "The Yes!" via Twitter, Pinterest successfully acquired the company that focuses on all things fashion and shopping-centric features on its application. The Yes! is significant for the AI-powered processes previously offered in their experiences, only accessible by the application upon the user's access.

The Yes! comes from Julie Bornstein, a famous e-commerce entity and former Stitch Fix CO), alongside technical co-founder Amit Aggarwal. There are no details on how much the acquisition cost Pinterest on their new venture, as the company seems to focus on its online shopping experience that it will merge with The Yes! in the future.

Pinterest is the board and source of information, and The Yes!'s feature will focus on bringing it to the person in real life.

Pinterest is Bringing a New Experience for All

According to Tech Crunch, this new focus by Pinterest is massive for the company, as it aims to expand more on its online shopping experience, something that it wants available on its platform. People use Pinterest boards to express their moods and discover more trendy and stylish things found online, with direct help from AI, to have for purchase soon.

Online Shopping on Social Media?

Pinterest may be the latest company on social media to focus on online shopping, but it is not the only one that brings the said venture available to the world. TikTok released an e-commerce platform where users can directly buy from the video, clicking on the link that would lead them to the item, and they can have it shipped straight to their address.

The public also knows of the IG Shop feature from Instagram that contains hyperlinks toward shops or specific items that they see online. It helps to promote goods via the feed itself, with a chance to gather the public and have them purchase different fits or accessories available on the platform.

Its sibling social media, Facebook, has the Marketplace platform right on the application and browsers, with a direct way to contact a seller.

With that being said, the venture by Pinterest only shows that it aims to make its content available to the public, but it would depend on the people that posted it and arranged it on their feeds.

Most people exert effort to make their boards look pleasing or aesthetic. Here, the public also plans or gets inspiration for their next outfit or purchase soon as possible with an upcoming e-commerce feature.
