If the WWE has a maniacal overlord, it's Triple H. The once-beloved Superstar is now the company's Chief operating Officer - and rules over the WWE roster with an iron fist. It's been one of the company's recurring storylines for over a year now, and it works: Triple H really feels like a villain, and while it's still typical, campy WWE storytelling, it's entertaining.

Of course, just because he plays a power-hungry executive on TV doesn't mean that Triple H is actually a terrible person in real life (unless you listen to WWE rumors, but that's another story entirely). It's just a part he plays, and while his true side is rarely seen by those outside of the WWE's inner circle, fans present at last night's Monday Night Raw got to see a glimpse of the man behind the character.

While it's easy to assume that the WWE Universe is mostly middle-aged drunkards and hardcore followers, that's really not the case - there are actually quite a few kids that watch the WWE's weekly shows. Last night, when things got a little too real for one young fan at ringside, Triple H stepped in to calm things down:

It's certainly not something you see every day: Triple H is a villain in every way, shape and form on TV, but watching him console a crying child during a live broadcast is pretty heartwarming.

A pep-talk wasn't the only thing the kid got, either: not only did the child receive some free WWE merchandise, but it seems like he was invited backstage, too:

Not a bad deal, especially considering how rare it is for any fan to make it behind the curtain. Of course, it doesn't mean that crying at ringside is an easy way to get backstage...though it probably doesn't hurt to try!

WWE's Monday Night Raw airs at 8pm EST on USA.
