According to a tech analyst, the rumored Apple AR headset could come by 2024.

As per 9to5Mac's report, Jeff Pu, a tech research analyst from Haitong International, has recently said that Apple's upcoming AR headsets are slated to arrive in 2024.

The expert cited that Apple will retain Luxshare, its main supplier for many tech products. Pu said that this company would be responsible for producing the AR/VR headsets. The expected date for the arrival of the smart gadgets will be between late 2022 and 2024, according to a note spotted by the tech site.

Additionally, the analyst claims that the tech titan is now developing high-end AR glasses, which will soon be ready. Other than that, the company will also focus on bringing other notable devices such as iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8.

As of writing, the company has not yet dropped any hints about the specifications of the rumored wearable. However, its design might be limited to the point that it would "highly" depend on Apple's smartphones.

Ming-Chi Kuo, a prominent tech tipster, has previously said that the Apple glasses will serve as an iPhone display. This mechanism can be compared to the first-gen Apple smartwatch.

Speaking of its design, the AR/VR headset is said to be capable of handling both AR and VR innovation. It could also independently process different contents coming from various gadgets.

To be specific, Pu clarified that Apple's headset might arrive next year. The second-gen version of this device will be coming in late 2024, together with the AR glasses.

Apple to Adopt USC-C Lighting Port as Standard Cable

As we know, the Cupertino titan is rolling out new changes when it comes to its tech products. The firm used to introduce an exclusive cable for its gadgets alone. However, this decision could change in the future because of the recent announcement from the European Union.

According to CNN, the EU is now instructing Apple and other smartphone firms only to use a standard charging port for all the handhelds. It is reportedly taking effect in the fall of 2024.

This means that the universal cable for all devices will be a USB Type-C port, regardless if it's an iPhone, an earbud, a laptop, and more.

As for Apple's part, the company has been prepared for this one. It has started rolling out a Lightning connector for some of its devices, including iPads and Macs.

Recently, the company is also believed to be experimenting with cable in iPhones. The decision to use USB-C could put an end to Apple's Lightning charger.
