Amazon's Prime Day Sale for 2022 is near, and it will be in less than two weeks from now, giving the public only a few days to get their affairs in order and buy from the event. However, an expert said that there is a psychological sales tactic that Amazon enforces on its Prime Day, and it may lead to people spending more than they plan to do.

Overspending and impulse buying from sale events is a regular thing, and it is because the public gets enticement by other products they see on the e-commerce platform or via their targeted ads. According to the Entrepreneur, people may fall victim to these kinds of psychological sales tactics of the company without realizing what is happening.

Utpal Dholakia, the George R. Brown Professor of Marketing at the Jones Graduate School of Business, Rice University, said that people believe that if there is a sale, they are to pay less for it. However, that is not the case at all times, as some would get more items that are part of their wants and not their needs, and they would end up having more to purchase.

Here's How to Maximize Your Amazon Prime Day Buys

Amazon Prime Day offers the best deals on its platform, but it is not for all e-commerce companies or other retailers. Dholakia said that users might check on different platforms for a lower price or better deal to help them have options in what to buy in their splurge.

The professor also said buyers have to prioritize and analyze what they need over their wants, as it could easily be hard to decide what to buy during these sale events. Planning what to buy and having a budget for it may help one's purchases.

Amazon Prime Day 2022

Amazon Prime Day 2022 is not yet here, but there are many news and announcements regarding the event for all, and it would ensure that the public would experience the best yet to arrive. Apart from the sale on the company's e-commerce platform, Amazon is also promising 25 games for the Prime Gaming community come July 12.

Additionally, users do not have to worry about the Prime Day sale this July if they miss out on the event, as there is an upcoming second part of this from Amazon by the Q4 of the year. It is the first time that Amazon is holding two Prime Day sales in a year, and it would be different from its Black Friday sale that it will also have later this year.

Prime Day is a massive event, and users must be careful not to fall for the tricks and stunts of the company regarding this venture.

Some people browsing the e-commerce platform may feel overwhelmed to continue to buy different things from the company, which may affect their purchases and focus. Amazon Prime Day offers the best deals and massive discounts, but it may push them to purchase more from the company than they plan to buy.
