The non-Tesla Supercharger pilot program will soon open in the United States. As of writing, this version of the EV maker's charging station is only available in selected European countries.

But, the Biden-Harris Administration confirmed that this would soon change as the U.S. is the nation next in line to have the advanced non-Tesla Supercharger project. 

"Later this year, Tesla will begin production of new Supercharger equipment that will enable non-Tesla EV drivers in North America to use Tesla Superchargers," said the Biden-Harris admin via its official White House fact sheet

According to Teslarati's latest report, the rollout of the non-Tesla Supercharger pilot program is expected to happen before 2022 ends.

However, the exact date is not yet confirmed. Once this EV charger project opens, American electric car owners are expected to take advantage of more than 35,0000 Supercharger units. 

But, it is still unclear if Tesla owners can also take advantage of this EV charging network. As of press time, the non-Tesla Supercharger pilot project is exclusive to EV models not manufactured by Elon Musk's company. 

This is because Tesla cars already have their own Supercharger Network.

Although certain details are not yet confirmed, the Biden-Harris Administration still acknowledges the efforts made by the giant automaker, especially its investments at the Gigafactory New York.  

Tesla Supercharger Expands in China

While the non-Tesla Supercharger program expansion focuses on the United States, the original Tesla Supercharger Network now has more EV charging stations in China. 

Previously, the giant EV maker confirmed that it now has more than 1,200 Supercharger stations in mainland China. This means that the automaker was able to add around 200 new stations and 700 single Supercharger units in China during the first half of 2022. 

Meanwhile, Tesla's 100-Stall Supercharger station is now expected to arrive in the Mojave Desert, which is located between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
