It is worth noting that the renowned EV maker owned by Elon Musk looks to expand its workforce to roughly 12,000 workers once the Giga Berlin hits its full production capacity.

And as such, Tesla has already grown its team at Giga Berlin to more than 5,000 employees as it hits an average production of around 1,000 EVs every week.

It essentially makes the auto factory in the largest city of Germany the biggest industrial employer in the Berlin region. That said, Tesla beats other German carmakers in employment.

FUERSTENWALDE, GERMANY - SEPTEMBER 03: Tesla head Elon Musk arrives to have a look at the construction site of the new Tesla Gigafactory near Berlin on September 03, 2020 near Gruenheide, Germany.

However, this is still far from the end goal of the renowned American automaker.

In fact, the Musk-led EV maker actually looks to make around 500,000 EVs every year in its Giga Berlin plant alone. So, Tesla ultimately attempts to produce roughly 9,600 vehicles per year by that time.

But as the Giga Berlin is still starting to ramp up to its full potential, Tesla targets about 3,000 all-electric cars before 2022 faces its final curtain call.

Inside EVs estimates that by the middle of this decade or in 2023, Giga Berlin should start producing more than 9,000 vehicles every week.

And to hit these numbers, Tesla continues to ramp up production in Giga Berlin.

According to a recent report by Clean Technica, the giant EV maker is temporarily halting the operation of its auto plant in Germany for two weeks.

The temporary suspension of Giga Berlin starts this July 11 as the automaker plans to significantly increase its production volume by August.
