The series is set three years after the end of the Imjin War in Jose, the predecessor to modern-day Korea. Crown Prince Lee Chang investigates the mysterious illness of the king, and he also must work his way around the advances of his political rivals who are after the throne.

The game will be developed by South Korean studio Action Square, which is also the one behind the shooter Anvil. Kingdom: The Blood ensures that they will be respectful of the Korean culture when making the game.

With that, it will include the use of a professional Korean sword dancer for motion capture. It will also feature a Conquest Mode that will offer players a sequence of diverse five-minute battles and multi-boss battles, PvP combat, and a store mode that will follow the events of the Netflix series.

Also based on the trailer, Kingdom: The Blood will put more focus on the zombies rather than the political side of things. You can watch the trailer here.

It is planned to be released on both PC and mobile. However, its release date is still unknown.

What is It With Zombie Games?

Zombies have been a popular theme for games for quite some time now. Make no mistake, the popularity of zombies is more than the fascination of its iconic power.

There are many theories as to why zombies are so appealing, one of them is that it's a reflection of society's fears. Regardless of whether it's an outbreak of infectious diseases, such as the Zika virus or the H1N1 virus, or a worldwide war that devastates the world, zombies symbolize the end of humanity.

This is why many zombie-themed video games are either about fighting for survival or about a barren wasteland. Despite that, there are plenty of zombie games that are not about fighting for your life, but about surviving with other people.

Most zombie games feature a similar concept. Whether it is a shooter or a hack-and-slash action game, the main goal is always about killing zombies and completing missions.

Among the most popular zombie games are Left for Dead, Dead Rising, and State of Decay. There are also more role-playing games with zombies.

Zombies are also staples in horror movies. The most famous, of course, is Resident Evil, but there are also zombies in the likes of 28 Days Later and World War Z.

Perhaps the biggest influence of zombies comes from video games. The Resident Evil series, Left 4 Dead, and Dead Rising are all based on zombies, which gives zombie games a certain level of quality and continues the vogue for zombie gaming.
