Google has finally added the "known senders" feature so you can finally block spam invites from other users.

Usually, some Calendar users find it hard to deal with other people who mess up their appointments on the app. With the annoying invitations that come from random people, there's no way that you can get rid of spam invites easily.

This time, Google seems to listen to the users who requested the feature to be added three years ago. The Calendar app has a new feature called the "known senders" feature which will finally grant your head rent-free from spammers.

According to Engadget, this feature will allow you to block those people you don't know. This means that other senders can keep in touch with you if they know you. That's when the "only if the sender is known" toggle is turned on.

With that being said, the feature will automatically add people that you exclusively include in your contact list. Those individuals who share the same domain with you are on a similar page with them.

Before, users could automatically receive email invitations from strangers on the Google Calendar. You only have one way to stop this from happening. That is by disabling the automatic event adding option. If you choose this option, you need to deal with the manual adding for each invite.

How to Enable Google Calendar Block Spam

Google said that the feature would be available to all users with the following accounts: Google Workspace, Legacy G Suite, Google Business, and personal accounts.

It is expected that it will be accessible in the next 15 days, so pay attention to the future update in your Google Calendar app.

Once it arrives, you can now start using it. Just make sure to follow the procedures below:

  1. First, you need to open your Google Calendar app on your desktop.
  2. Then, from the top-right corner of the page, click the settings icon that you will see.
  3. On the left side menu bar, go to the Event Settings and tap it.
  4. Finally, go to the "Add Invitations to my calendar," particularly in the drop-down menu. Select "Only if the sender is known" to activate the "known senders" feature.

Earlier this month, Android Police reported that Google Calendar would lose support for location-based reminders. The Google Calendar v2022.26.x update showed that there would be some changes in the text strings as part of the adjustments for the "Reminders to Tasks."
