With the release of Samsung's highly anticipated Galaxy S23 next year, news sources and individual personalities are hearing speculations left and right. If the newest rumor is to be believed, the rear camera might be receiving a huge update, all the way up to 200MP for the primary sensor on the Ultra variant.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

The introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Ultra is still many months away, but these flagship devices will come in early 2023 and start off the year of the latest Android smartphones on the market. Just as we did with previous Samsung releases, we anticipate a few significant design improvements, larger and better cameras, and other features.

Originally, consumers aren't expecting Samsung to go much from original phone designs. But now that Samsung "Ultra" series has acquired the S-Pen, many expect it to feature a larger screen than previous generations and keep the squared-off form of the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Review Geek predicts that Samsung will keep the same enormous and beautiful 6.8-inch Quad-HD screen for the next Ultra in 2023. The most significant modifications in terms of functionality, on the other hand, will undoubtedly be on the rear camera set.

200MP Rear Camera?

Many people believe that Samsung will launch its 200MP rear camera with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Although this is only a rumor, more and more sources are leaning towards it. According to Tech Times, a well-known leaker known as Ice Universe has revealed that the all-new Galaxy S23 Ultra would include a 200-megapixel main camera.

Then according to Notebook Check, there are presently just two 200 MP smartphone sensors on the market the moment. But here comes the major plot twist; it incorporates the South Korean tech giant's ISOCELL HP1 and HP3 camera sensors. Take Moto X30 Pro, for example. So is a 200MP camera possible? No doubt! But will it be better and included in Galaxy S23 Ultra?

Recently, another report surfaced from ET News, claiming to be based on information shared by Samsung Electronics' Mobile Experience (MX) division with industry partners.

Techradar states that this rumor has been going on since last year. The sources who made these discussions come up are typically credible, so it appears like this will happen. However, nothing is guaranteed until it's official. If the Samsung Galaxy S23 is released, the 200MP sensor will supposedly only be available in the Ultra variant. That matches the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which features a 108MP primary sensor against the other versions' 50MP main sensors.

But there's nothing to be concerned about with this new 200MP camera, for now. Everything will be disclosed next year nonetheless, and for the time being, sources remain intact that the Galaxy S23 will be released in February. Probably February, considering that's when the Galaxy S22 was released.
