According to the story by 9to5Linux, with Mozilla letting go of Firefox 104, Firefox 105 has been released to the beta channel for "public testing, early adopters, and bleeding edgers." It was noted that the new browser also brings back something that was long anticipated.
The Firefox 105 reportedly brings back the "two-finger swipe horizontal gesture," a feature that was long-anticipated, on Linux devices. This would allow users to navigate back and forth on a website without having to even hold the Alt key down.
Two-Finger Swipe Horizontal Feature Expected to Launch on the 104 Could Come with the 105
The two-finger swipe horizontal gesture was long expected by users with some of them hoping that it would launch on Firefox 104. The feature, however, has been delayed again and again until finally confirmed, as of press time, to be added to the newer Firefox 105.
Firefox 105 also promises certain memory issue fixes for Linux users. These problems were previously spotted in the previous releases of the open-source web browser and can be easily spotted on low-memory systems.
Firefox 105 and Its Improvements to Linux Machines
Mozilla noted that "Firefox is less likely to run out of memory on Linux" and could also maintain better performance despite the memory slowly running low. Aside from this, Firefox 105 is expected to come with a brand new Print Preview dialog option that allows users to directly print a page.
Web developers will also be given support to use scripting in order to find persistent scripts. As users can see, the newer Firefox 105 does not seem like a major release.
Mozilla Firefox 105 Expected to Launch on September 20 but Beta Testing Already Open
The new browser, in fact, brings a significant amount of changes. The article by 9to5Linux notes that they are hoping that the new changes will eventually make even more Linux users happy when they are using Mozilla's Firefox 105.
The official Firefox 105 release is expected to happen on September 20, 2022. Before that, the browser will be open for beta testing for users to see the new Linux changes.

Beta Testers can Choose Between the Binary 64-bit or 32-bit Systems
Users will be given the option to either download the Firefox 105 binary for 64-bit systems or 32-bit systems. In order to check out the beta versions of the new browser, users will have to download the browser from the Mozilla FTP site.
