The Microsoft "Flight Simulator" will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary update by bringing 12 new aircraft. The aircraft expected to make their way to the platform include a Spruce Goose, and Wright Flyer, among others.

Microsoft is Adding a 40th Anniversary Edition Patch to Flight Simulator

According to the story by PC Gamer, the Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition patch is getting its official release date. The patch will become available for all users come November 11, with an update expected to pack a punch.

So far, what's known about the update is that it will be bringing 12 new aircraft and 20 missions that come from the simulator's past. Players will also be getting four big commercial airports, ten glider airports, and the addition of 14 heliports.

Program to Add Helicopters which is a New Addition Since Its Latest Version Launched in 2020

The most notable addition to the "Flight Simulator" is how it will be introducing helicopters and gliders that have been absent ever since the latest version of the simulator's launch back in 2020.

As per PC Gamer, their excitement is pointed towards the historical planes that are expected to make their way to the simulator. One specific historical plane that fans will be getting is the Hughes H-4 Hercules.

40th Anniversary to Bring Local Legends Like the 1919 All-Metal Junkers F 13

The Hughes H-4 Hercules is the "largest wooden plane and largest seaplane ever built." Another colloquial name for the Hughes H-4 Hercules is the Spruce Goose which only flew once in real life.

The 40th Anniversary year will also add a series of different Local Legends aircraft. The latest of these legends is the 1919 All-Metal Junkers F 13 as seen on a news post from Xbox itself. 

Flight Simulators Show the Visual Aspects of the New Patch Updates

Videos of the city update can also be spotted on YouTube, showing users what they might be able to expect from the newest patch. As always, the Flight Simulator has a lot to show users in terms of scenery, architecture, and other mind-bogging locations.

 

The video shows the addition of different planes that will be made available to players. For those that want to learn more about the Local Legends, a video was also uploaded showing the specific beauty of the classical aircraft.

The New Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition Video Focuses on a Helicopter

The charm of the game is better seen when playing the simulator of the game or by watching videos of it instead of getting the text details. As seen in the videos, players will be able to launch from sea or water, which is a new experience for the Simulator.

The video also shows a glimpse of what it would be like trying to launch from the snow. The official video for the 40th Anniversary Edition puts heavy focus on a helicopter along with other classic planes to show gamers what they might expect from the upcoming edition.
