The leaker claimed that the "Fortnite" VR saw references to "Oculus," which is the previous name of Meta's virtual reality company before its recent change.

According to the latest tweet by the known "Fortnite" leaker HYPEX, the latest update of "Fortnite," released on August 30, gave clues to an upcoming venture of the battle royale into VR gaming. The leaker said that codes pertaining to "Oculus" appeared on its codes, and it may be in preparation for the game's upcoming virtual reality experience.
This leak means that gamers would get to experience "Fortnite" through their VR glasses and still play it via the console or PC's controls. There are massive possibilities that this transition to VR would open up, especially as previous speculations on playing "Fortnite" in virtual reality is an experience that fans asked for in the past.

'Fortnite' to Play on Meta's Oculus Quest 2?
HYPEX said it might be available in the Meta Quest 2 device, with "Fortnite" soon offering a "proper VR support" for the title. Still, there is no information or comments from Epic Games regarding this unique digital experience that the leaker claimed, with the news likely remaining as a speculation for the game.
Quest 2 is one of the most prominent VR devices now, offering different mixed reality experiences for the world.
'Fortnite's' Updates and VR
Epic Games and the "Fortnite" battle royale have no previous leaks on bringing its experience to the virtual reality world, but it is high time for the company now as the VR industry is booming. However, there were news last year that Epic Games is developing a metaverse and virtual world under one of its projects, already securing $1 billion for the new world.
Sony is one of the companies that invested in Epic Games' said digital reality, with no current information regarding the metaverse or its development.
Still, it is a highly regarded project from the company, especially as Epic Games' "Fortnite" proved to be a significant platform with metaverse capabilities in the present. Different online activities and concerts were held in the game, and it gave the public a chance to experience it remotely.
Nevertheless, "Fortnite's" experience does not have the chance to see through VR lenses or headsets, as well as control it using motion controllers that are prominent among AR/VR devices. For now, this leak remains an information that is still in question, and no official confirmation for the "Fortnite" VR project is available from Epic.
