A user shared a new theme called "Grumpy UI," and it centers on transforming the upper notch to feature animations and multitasking, much like Apple's iPhone 14 Dynamic Island.

A Xiaomi UI and theme developer from China brings a new experience to the MIUI and Android 13, particularly with the introduction of the "Grumpy UI."

At first glance, the Grumpy UI is similar looking to the iPhone 14 Pro's Dynamic Island, as it also features the utilization of the camera notch on top of the screens. While the OP did not say much or show extensively regarding the Grumpy UI's features, it presents a different look and function for the floating pinhole notch on top of the Xiaomi device.

Additionally, the Grumpy UI's feature shown on the video is its ability to display and hide the music bar beside the notch, something which is also available to Dynamic Island.

Other basic notifications and alerts may also pop up by the Grumpy UI's offers, for all Xiaomi MIUI users.

Grumpy UI vs. Dynamic Island: Which is the Better Tech?

According to Android Central, the Grumpy UI is available in China and is only available via a trial version for now. Xiaomi is yet to approve the theme which already applied for the process to make it available for all, but as of now, it is a promising Android version of the feature.

Apple and Xiaomi's new take on the notch are both exclusive to the device, so there are no comparisons there. However, it will boil down to preference and availability, as the Grumpy UI, if approved, will be available soon even for old models, but users of the iOS would need to upgrade to the iPhone 14 Pro to get this feature.

iPhone 14's Dynamic Island Brings Good Integration

Apple introduced the world with the new look of the iPhone 14 Pro, and it takes the "Pro" to a different level with the arrival of "Dynamic Island," a feature that is unique to the device.
