AC Ventures Reaches First Close of $250 Million Fund

As per the latest report by Tech Crunch, AC Ventures is a venture firm that highly focuses on early-stage startups not just in Indonesia but elsewhere in the emerging market of Southeast Asia.

And it booked a massive milestone just recently as it reached the first-ever close of its Fund V, which seeks to collect a total capital of $250 million.

It is worth mentioning that the venture firm has already successfully raised roughly 65% of the capital that it seeks to achieve.

Tech Crunch notes in its report that the first close of its Fund V includes various investments from other firms, including Atma, SkorLife, and IDEAL.

As of writing, the news outlet highlights that ACV has already received 120 investments not just in Indonesia but in other Southeast Asian nations, as well.

AC Ventures and its Digitization Investments

No less than the co-founder and managing partner of ACV, Adrian Li, himself broadly told Tech Crunch that they "are investing in the digitization of Indonesia and the Southeast Asia economy."

The co-founder of ACV further adds that the digital GDP of Indonesia was at a cool $70 billion last year. But he notes that it is still "expected to grow to over $350 billion in the next five to six years."

Li boasts that ACV has "extensive experience of investing over past funds." In fact, they have "also developed expertise, particularly around commerce opportunities, fintech and micro, and small enterprises," the managing partner prides.

The ACV co-founder went on to explain that "each of these thematic areas represents really deep pools of revenue potential."

He furthered that "we're seeing a lot of ways in which digital adoption can truly make things more efficient, cost less, and create value for all the stakeholders in these verticals."

AC Ventures: What is it Exactly?

The official website of AC Ventures says that it is an early-stage technology venture fund, and it mainly looks into the disruptors in the digital market of Indonesia.

While AC Ventures has an office in Indonesia, it now also holds offices in other parts of Southeast Asia, such as Singapore. And on top of that, its team comprises more than 35 folks, which its partners of AC Ventures, namely Pandu Sjahrir, Michael Soerijadji, Helen Wong, and Li, lead.

And this time, it looks like AC Ventures is closing in to its Fund V target of $250 million investments as it reaches roughly 65% of it.
